Start with a Conversation: Discuss Your Needs
Each time your care worker visits, take a moment to outline the tasks you’d like help with. Whether it’s assistance with cleaning, meal preparation, or transport to appointments, setting clear expectations at the start of the visit ensures everyone is on the same page.
If you’d like to change the type of service—such as swapping domestic support for transportation—please call our office ahead of time. This allows us to manage the adjustment, log the changes appropriately, and ensure accurate billing.
The Enablement Philosophy: Promoting Your Independence
At HomeCare Australia, we embrace the Australian Government’s enablement philosophy, which focuses on empowering you to maintain your independence.
Your care worker is there to support you in completing tasks while encouraging you to do as much as you can on your own. By staying active and involved, you can maintain your independence, improve your quality of life, and feel a sense of accomplishment in your daily routine.
Efficient Task Management and Time Use
Occasionally, all your tasks may be completed before the scheduled visit time ends. While we recommend your care worker remain to ensure every detail is thoroughly addressed or assist with additional tasks, you are welcome to let them leave early if you feel everything has been completed to your satisfaction but you will be charged for the rostered service.
