At HomeCare Australia, our goal is to help you live as independently and comfortably as possible. A big part of this comes from building a great working relationship with your care worker. To make the most of your visits, we encourage you to have a quick discussion at the beginning of each visit to outline what you’d like done. Clear communication can ensure that your care worker knows your priorities and can focus on what matters most to you.

Discuss Your Needs

Each time your care worker visits, take a moment to talk about the tasks you’d like help with. Whether it’s assistance with cleaning, meal preparation, or other support, setting expectations early ensures your needs are met.

If you’d like to change the type of service—such as swapping domestic support for transport to an appointment—this is absolutely fine, but please call our office ahead of time to let us know. This helps us ensure everything is logged and managed appropriately and you are charged correctly.

Enablement Philosophy

We follow the Australian Government’s enablement philosophy, which focuses on empowering you to maintain your independence and improve your quality of life. This means your care worker is here to support you in doing the things you can and help with the tasks you need assistance with.

We encourage you to assist with tasks you are capable of rather than letting the care worker do everything for you. The benefit of this approach is that it helps you stay active, maintain your independence, and feel a sense of accomplishment in your daily routine.

Completing Tasks and Time Management

We understand there may be occasions where all your tasks are completed before your scheduled time is over. While we’d prefer your care worker stays for the full duration to ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly or to assist with anything additional, it’s okay to let them leave early if you feel everything has been done.

We’re Here to Support You

Your satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities. If you have any questions about managing your care visits or need to make changes to your services, don’t hesitate to contact our office. Together, we can make sure you’re getting the most out of your care.

Thank you for being part of the HomeCare Australia family.
